Welcome to Cotswold Cricket Museum
A Treasure Trove of Artefacts
For aficionados of the great game, no visit to the delightful market town of Stow-on-the-Wold would be complete without popping into the Cotswold Cricket Museum. For here can be found a truly dazzling collection of artefacts from all over the world, covering the history of the game and providing some revealing insights about some of its most illustrious players.
There are blazers, caps, bats, china and paintings galore, plus many rare photographs, authentic letters and even TV footage of great events in the game’s history. All this and much more - a real wonderland of nostalgia and compelling interest.
This privately-run museum can be found in Sheep Street, close to the town’s picturesque main square, and is under the able and knowledgeable curatorship of Mr and Mrs Andy Collier. A warm and friendly welcome is assured for all visitors and tours of the exhibit galleries are offered, during which Andy is always keen to explain the history and provenance of each and every artefact to the curious enquirer. If, like him, you have an enduring passion for the game, you are certain to be intrigued and fascinated by the sheer variety and richness of this unique collection of memorabilia.
Andy has devoted over 20 years to the task of bringing the artefacts together, sorting them into their various categories while thoroughly researching the story of each item to confirm its authenticity. The collection really is a tribute to his single-mindedness and dedication and it’s no surprise that Andy feels immensely proud of what he has achieved, a wonderful creation that he has always been determined to share with others. His philosophy is simple: to spread and increase interest in the history of cricket.
Everyone, from young aspiring bowlers and batsmen in their school’s team, to mature life-long fans, will be simply spellbound when they first set eyes on this magnificent display.
